The Gift of Music

"The Gift of Music" by Navajo artist Ed Natiya is a bronze of a Native American playing his flute.  This piece is sitting on a rock in the middle of an Iris Garden of a housing addition's roundabout.  According to the artist's website "Natiya captures the essence of Indigenous peoples from a very authentic perspective. His is driven by the need to explore the wisdom of long ago and the genuine nature of Native peoples. His Sculpture and Artwork radiates with life, love and beauty, speaking to both young and old alike. Through his work, he elegantly brings their wisdom, history, and stories to life. All in hopes that these teachings and values will be remembered and appreciated for years to come."  Natiya's award-winning works are in collections throughout the United States.  This piece was purchased through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) with a private donor/public matching fund program called Art in Public Places with Caleb & Terri McCaleb and Scott & Sally Whipple.
