A Moment in Time
by Mandolyn Rae White and Cread Bayliss
“A Moment in Time” was created by local artists Mandolyn Rae White and Cread Bayliss.
Mandolyn Rae White, originally from Arkansas, is a dynamic artist with over a decade of experience. Her work is deeply rooted in mixed media and pop culture, giving her art a raw yet refined edge. Cread Bayliss is a seasoned visual artist with 24 years of painting experience, including two decades focused on large-scale murals across the country. Known for his bold compositions, Cread specializes in blending pop culture icons with timeless, figurative imagery.
Together, Mandolyn and Cread envisioned this mural as their artistic interpretation of the Thunder’s 2025 NBA Championship parade. One of the most powerful moments captured is when the parade bus turned the corner in front of the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial — a striking juxtaposition of tragedy and triumph. From one of Oklahoma’s darkest days to one of its most joyful, that moment in time remains unforgettable.
The second half of the mural highlights another iconic symbol: the Edmond Route 66 shield. Route 66, America's first all-weather highway connecting Chicago to Los Angeles, continues to draw visitors from around the globe and holds special significance in Edmond’s identity.
This mural was acquired through the Art in Public Places program via EVAC, with funding made possible by a private donor/public matching partnership with Darin Kent, Kenneth Wohl, Brian Blundell, Jason Clark, and Matt Thomas.
