Centennial Clock
by Verdin Company
Located at Broadway median north of 2nd St
7 E 2nd St Edmond OK 73034 USA
“Centennial Clock” by Verdin Company is one of the first art pieces that almost anyone driving through Edmond will see. This clock sits at 2nd Street and Broadway, the busiest intersection in the city. Previously in this spot sat “Royal Red” a statue of a fox meant to greet those coming into downtown Edmond. Some disapproved of this decision because instead of greeting incomers, they saw the fox as coldly facing its back to the downtown area. The Centennial Commission suggested this location to the Edmond Visual Arts Commission which worked out wonderfully because the four-sided clock would face all directions. This iconic piece was purchased for Edmond's one hundredth anniversary by the Centennial Commission in 2006.
