Color Block

Zonly Looman’s “Color Block” was located right next to the Littler Lawn Park in Downtown Edmond. Because it was made up of large rectangles of color, it was the perfect backdrop for photos. Just pick your favorite color (or the color that is best suited to your outfit) and snap a photo or two to share with your friends and family. The park offered a perfect spot for people to relax and take photos but is no longer accessible due to the construction of the new City Hall.
“Color Block,” formerly known as “Community Mural,” marks Looman’s third mural in the Edmond Public Art Inventory. Originally, the mural was intended to be a collaborative piece between three of our High Schools; Edmond Memorial, Edmond North, and Boulevard, with Zonly there to help teach and guide the students. Unfortunately, this idea fell through due to Covid. This piece was purchased through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) with a private donor/public matching fund program called Art in Public Places in partnership with Barry Rice.
