“Downtown Edmond” by Graphic Designer, Julia Blasdel. This design was one of twelve featured on the City of Edmond calendar for 2020. The City of Edmond sponsored the first four Outside the Box wraps that were all placed in downtown Edmond as a pilot program. Outside the Box is a program that allows our transformer boxes to have vinyl artwork wraps, with an approval process of course. Public art has the capacity to transform a space, and infrastructure art is a good way to affordably mobilize the installation of public art, as these “canvases” can be found all throughout the community.
Purchased through Edmond Electric, this program is completely funded by the sponsor/donor. All artwork is approved through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC). The sponsor/donor was the City of Edmond.
