7100 E 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73034, USA
“Magic Hands,” by Joshua Tobey, depicts a mischievous raccoon, likely up to no good. Why are his hands so called “magic” and might that allude to his cunning and thieving nature? The artist, Josh Tobey, has been creating artwork alongside his college art professor father, Gene Tobey, ever since his childhood. Tobey is known for his works featuring American wildlife and animals. His works range from serious and realistic sculptures of animals to others in comical poses, situations, and names. He currently resides in Loveland, CO, and is a world-renowned artist.
“Magic Hands” is helping to complete Lake Arcadia’s goal to host a nature-themed sculpture at every one of its entrances into the park. This piece was purchased with one percent Construction Improvement Project (CIP) funding from the Arcadia Lake trail on Route 66 through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC).
