Monarch Butterfly
by Rick Sinnett
This vibrant Monarch Butterfly mural celebrates the beauty and importance of pollinators while recognizing the City of Edmond Parks Department’s ongoing efforts to create and maintain pollinator gardens throughout Edmond’s parks. The mural was made possible through a grant from the Oklahoma Monarch Society, supporting the community’s commitment to providing habitat and resources for monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
Created by Oklahoma muralist, printmaker, and visual folk artist Rick Sinnett, the mural reflects his signature style of bold lines, vibrant colors, and nature-inspired patterns. Sinnett draws much of his artistic inspiration from the natural world, incorporating the plants, animals, and landscapes that have influenced his work throughout his career.
The Monarch Butterfly serves as both a striking artistic focal point and a reminder of the important connection between art, nature, and conservation. Through its colorful and engaging design, the mural invites viewers to appreciate the beauty of the monarch while highlighting the role communities can play in creating welcoming spaces for pollinators.Collection Name: Edmond Art in Public Places Program
