“No Turning Back” is a bronze sculpture of a frontier woman in front of a wagon wheel by Veryl Goodnight. The woman is depicted as persistent as she travels west because “There was absolutely No Turning Back.” Veryl started her art career as a wildlife painter but learned how to sculpt. Her works reflect her western roots. Her works have been featured in all major art magazines and her own book titled “No Turning Back- the Art of Veryl Goodnight” was published in 2011. This features the same-titled sculpture on its cover and is a guide to her career, approach to art, and compilation of her artworks. This piece was purchased through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) with a private donor/public matching fund program called Art in Public Places in partnership with an anonymous donor.
