"Painted Bunting" by local artist Dusty Gilpin is a vibrant mural depicting two painted bunting birds perched on a branch amidst a field of wildflowers. A closer look reveals some special bugs hidden in the scene. Jeremy and Mallary, the project's partners, wanted to include their three children in the mural. Millie is represented as the ladybug, Wylie as the praying mantis, and Charlie chose the red ant. This beautiful artwork showcases the bright colors of nature and, most importantly, the family values that shine through. Completed in June 2024, "Painted Bunting" was acquired through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) with a private donor/public matching fund program called Art in Public Places, in partnership with Jeremy and Mallary Malwick.
