"Sunny Days Are Fun Days" a mosaic by local artist Don Martin began as a project between the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) and the Edmond Art Association in September 2023. The Edmond Art Association (EAA) is a registered 501©(3) organization. They feature local art and host monthly artist demonstrations where various artists showcase techniques or discuss business aspects of art. EVAC was looking for an artist to create a mosaic for Ted Anderson Park. The request was made to the EAA, and they chose Don Martin's design for the mosaic. This is Edmond's first permanently installed mosaic and our first piece by Don Martin. Completed in July of 2024 this beautiful piece was purchased with one percent Construction Improvement Project (CIP 1%) funding from the Ted Anderson Park Splashpad Project and approved through the EVAC.
