The purpose of the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) is to administer the provisions of Chapter 2.94 and 2.96 of the Edmond Municipal Code, providing a means for the selection, display, and maintenance of art for the City of Edmond's collection and to acquire, by purchase or donation, works of public art for the City's collection. The Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise stated.

The objective of this artwork is to provide a vibrant addition to Edmond's collection. It is encouraged that the work have some form of interactive component or intrigue, drawing local residents and visitors to Edmond.

We currently do not have an open call for artists. Please check back at a later time. We’d like to extend our gratitude to all the artists who submitted proposals for our recent projects. Congratulations to Studio Z for their selection for the Soccer Field Project, and to Stephen Lee and Brandon Taylor for their selection for the A.C. Caplinger Ball Field Project.selection criteria
- Artistic excellence, originality, and ability to produce a consistent body of work, as evidenced by representation of past work in images and other supporting materials
- Experience with projects of a similar scale and scope
- Appropriateness of artist/curator's approach an style to the project's intent and site
- Price and current market value of artist(s) work in relation to the scope and value contemplated for this commission
- Availability to work within the project time frame
- Good work habits: ability to meet deadlines, experience with budgeting, good communication skills, good problem solving
- Consideration of safety, accessibility, durability, maintenance, and timeliness
budget
The budget must include all expenses associated with the proposed project, including but not limited to, the artist fee, all labor and materials, insurance, transportation, engineering, and tool expense to design, fabricate, and install the selected work of art. The artist(s) will be required to coordinate and supply all materials and supplies necessary for installation of work.view details
Artist Application
Qualifying as an individual:
18+ years of age and/able to enter into a binding contract
Qualifying as a team:
All individuals should be listed with one person being specified as the team leader. If selected, all artists will be required to sign any and all mandatory paperwork.

- Rendering/illustration/sketch of proposed work or design concept
- Concept statement of proposed work (please include materials to be used)
- Installation/production details / detailed project budget (surface prep, on-site equipment, and proposed timeline)
- Artist bio/resume
- 1-3 digital photographs of prior work of similar scope and size; include details of location and date of completion
- Three references (include, name, email, and phone number)
- Certificate of insurance for worker's compensation and liability coverage. Insurance must be in place prior to entering location to complete work.
